You find a slightly older knife in one of your drawers, and pocket it for Wic, before heading back to the meeting point.

I put my arm on the window sill looking out and trying to memorize the route we are taking.
" Hey Michael do you mind if I ask how long you known Trey."

Michael glances back at you, and then looks forward, at the road out front.
"Well..." he pauses, takes a deep breath, and mutters something inaudible to himself; "I'm not quite sure. A long time, that's certain. If i'm right, i've probably known him for most of his requiem, certainly most of his time in the Lance."
He pauses, to let that sink in.
"Why?"

I shrug my shoulders and smile "Just making small talk."
You never know what you can learn from other people with small talk.
"So is everything ready for tonight. Is there anything else we should know."

"Most things are in place. We're relying heavily on catching our target where we know they are, otherwise this is going to be a huge waste of trip. However, if we've got them, then we should out number, and, metaphorically, outgun them. We're not sure, however, how much help they're going to have, if any, so we need to be cautious, though that should go without saying."

The car heads out of the city, and gets onto the highway, Jessie's car sticking close behind, so as not to lose you. It's a long drive, the best part of an hour, but eventually, you arrive. The sign outside the town read 'Welcome to Diamondhead'. It seems a normal enough quiet town, with hardly any one on the street at this kind of night. The only notable sign of life you see is when you drive past a bar. Jessie follows you through the network of streets, finally coming to a residential street, with mid-to-large sized houses. Most of them are pristine, clean and new-looking, but one house on the road draws your attention, more ramshackle than the others, falling apart slightly. You can't see it clearly from here, but it certainly spoils the look of the street somewhat.
The SUV pulls up at the side of the road, and Michael shuts off the engine. You watch out of the back window as the Beetle parks behind.
