You'll come around.
"Well, the offer always stands. A lot of Sanctified say the Dragons are heretics. I'm not sure. I don't see the Coils, I think that's what they're called, so much as removing the curse as it is giving you room to breathe within its confines. Of course, that may just be because I don't believe that you can break a curse from the Almighty. And all the time that the covenant's been around, they haven't made that much more headway. Or so I've heard."

He shrugs. "I hope to make informed decision. I haven't made up mind about anything, so we shall see."

That we shall.
"Well, good luck in whatever you decide. But as long as you remain unbound, be careful. Without a covenant to protect you, you'll be a target, especially after tonight's incident."
I look at my drink.
"Oh, where are my manners? Can I get you something?"

"Why not? Dirty martini, please."
Wic looks around the room.
((Did your pal join us at the table or stay at the bar?

((I haven't the slightest idea.))
I nod and go over to the bar to order Wic's drink. I wink at Sundown.
"You were right. Wic's cool. I just hope he won't get involved with the wrong crowd."

Treyvon: As you head over to the bar, you look around the room again. You spot Michael involved in a conversation with 2 other kindred at the bar.
Sundown: "I think he's smart enough not to; just depends how you define 'wrong crowd'."
He slaps the drinks on the table, as asked.
Wic: You watch your new aquaintance heading across the room, trying to get a further measuring, and wondering just what he does want.

Wic: You watch your new aquaintance heading across the room, trying to get a further measuring, and wondering just what he does want. Yes, exactly. He'll also spare a glance around occasionally, looking for anyone taking notice of them or himself.

Wic: You look around, but don't see anyone paying you more attention than anyone else.

"Thanks, bud."
I take the drink and head back to my table with Wic, giving a slight nod to Michael as I leave the bar.
"Here you are."
I take a moment to look Wic over again. He's got so much potential, even if he is a Haunt.

"Thank you," he says, then checks his watch.
"So, what now, my new friend? You still want spend time with me, even after I express my lack of faith? Not just recruiting then?"

I smile pleasantly at Wic.
"It's not a matter of faith. It's a matter of Truth. But no, I didn't come here to recruit anyone to the Lance. That's just a bonus."
Besides, Wic. I never actually expected you to jump on the Damned bandwagon. Once you see how I live my damned existence, you'll come around. I take another sip of my Hulk.
"I have a genuine concern for the Kindred of New Orleans, and my heart especially goes out to the unbound. I never really had to worry about it when I first started my requiem, but I had some acquaintances who did. I'm the only one left of them."

Wic sips his drink and looks around the room for a moment, trying to figure out if that was a veiled threat or merely a statement of fact. Then, assuming what he says is true, wonders why he had to pick this city when he fled the Old Country.
He leans back in his chair, once again making eye contact, "Then the question become, 'Whos truth?' and the discussion quickly devolve into a discussion of theology, history and the unreliability of the truth of either. However, I am sure you are all heart," he says with a nod and a smile, "And have only my best interests in mind." He then waves a hand, to hold the floor as he pauses for another sip, "Forgive me. One truth, for what it worth, I do appreciate the offer, as I look for something larger than myself to join. I consider it in earnest."

I just chuckle and nod my head.
"You know, Wic. I think we're going to be great friends."
I take a glance at Michael over at the bar to see how he's faring, then I turn back to the man in front of me.
"So why exactly did you come to New Orleans? I mean, there are plenty of other cities, not to mention safer ones in the U.S."

Wic gives a single chuckle. "I came for the Carnaval and fell in love with the place, what can be said?" He leans forward and speaks softly, "I have told you, the wars there became tiresome to me. It make you uncomfortable that you don't know my history?" He watches Trey as he leans back and finishes his drink.

"No, that doesn't make me uncomfortable."
I'm sure he's aware that that's his clan trademark.
"We just met. I didn't expect to learn everything about you in one night."
I'm not so sure I want to. At least I'm pretty sure he isn't behind the assassination attempt. Whether he knows anything is a different matter, but from the sounds of it, he's as clueless as the rest of us.
"Does it make you uncomfortable that I just started talking to you out of the blue and now we're having this conversation?"
This Hulk is pretty good.
