You head to your seat in the back corner, grabbing a newspaper from a stand on the way over.
After about half an hour of reading and re-reading the few interesting articles, someone enters who catches your attention. A man in a suit, with an overcoat, with very hard set face. It's not him who sets you off though, it's the guy at his shoulder, whom you do recognise. The guy who passed this job onto you from his boss. Lewis Green, dressed similarly, though looking nervously around. He must've spotted you, because he whispers something in his the other man's ear, and they walk over to you, pulling up an extra chair, and sitting down.
You're watching the first man intently, as you haven't met him before, and want to get a measure of him, so you're almost taken aback when Lewis speaks.
"I take it you have good news for Mr. Gelderd?"

Victor removes his hat at their approach and then speaks quietly to them both. "Yes, I believe that guy will never have a decent night's sleep again. Aside from the scar he'll have on his arm--fekker tried to pull a gun on me--and if he survives at all, he'll be singing about how wrong it was to do, whatever it was that he did. If you meet up with him again, I'm sure you'll be very satisfied. I believe I made an impression upon him that he'll remember till his last day.

This time, it's the first man who speaks. His voice is deep and rough, but somehow has a certain likeable quality to it at the same time.
"Excellent news! I will arrange for your payment tomorrow, once we've confirmed what you say, but i assure you, i like the sound of it. Lewis here will sort out the rest with you now, but i must leave. If all is well, we'll probably be in touch again."
He gets up, and heads for the door. Lewis leans in closer.
"We need to organise the payment details. How do you want the money? I believe the agreed fee was $5000."

"I'm not picky, my only requirement is that the money be placed in my hand. I suppose large bills would also be convenient."

"Very well, i'll arrange for a courier to meet you here tomorrow night. Same table, 10pm. Well, if there's nothing else, i'll be on my way, but you'll probably be hearing from me soon; I think Mr Gelderd was impressed with what he heard."
He stands, and takes a minute to adjust his coat.

false modesty~ He smiles. "Perhaps I was just lucky." His respectful confidence, say otherwise, however.
"Oh, yes, one more thing, I would ask that the money be in a money belt for inconspicuous and convenient transportation. Is that acceptable?"

"I'll have it arranged for you. It'll be handed over tomorrow night."
He turns, and heads out the door. You see him wrapping his coat around him tightly as he steps into the wind outside. You watch him as he walks past the window of the coffee house, and then out of view.
Where to now?

Victor goes out and walks to an unfamiliar part of the city. He will stroll around exploring until he finds something worth investigating, or until it's time to head back and take shelter from the sky.
Might as well become better aquainted with my new home.

Does Victor know of any Ordo Dracul members? He's interested that covenant.

You don't recall specifically meeting any members of the Dracul, but you're sure they've come up in conversation with somebody recently. You can't quite bring to mind who though.
Just as an aside, the way i've worked this (and will continue for similar things), given an unspecified background interaction in this area, is by forming a single social roll, based on the character's likely sphere of influence, at least in so far as people they know, or will have met. The more specific the person/group, the higher the penalties, and the greater degree of success, the greater the connection.

I'll assume night passes uneventfully.
There is a small appartment building near his haven. The windows there face a comercial building that is completely dark and unoccupied at night. Most of the tenets tend to leave their curtains open, oblivious to the fact that there is now an undead watcher lurking in the shadows who has taken a keen interest in them. He's found a way to climb up onto the roof out of sight and stay within the shadows of the streetlights.
He spends several minutes making sure he's not been followed before scaling the building and getting comfortable in his favorite spot. From here he just watches them as they wake up and get ready for their day.
He never comes here hungry. For him, they are not food and he plans to keep it that way. They are a connection to his humanity, to the life he lost, or perhaps, better stated: the life he never had. In any case, he gets a sense of satisfaction from these precious few moments of vicarious living.

Yes, the night passes without further accountable event. Time-frame wise, the others (especially Christian, who has been almost totally innactive recently) are slightly behind, so it's a little to early to join you with them yet. Moving to new thread.
