"Pry it is."
I leave out of the hallway and head for the door directly in front of me. Before opening it, I look around. I wonder how much a place like this costs.

Probably an arm and a leg. Not to mention a few necks.
The door leads into a kitchen, with a window onto a small back yard. It's nice and clean (no wonder, he can't have need for it!) What catches your eye is the nice silver-coloured fridge, which has a lock on it, can you believe. The key is in there though.

If curiousity killed the cat, it's a good thing I'm already dead. With that in mind, I unlock the fridge and open it.

Hmm, well stocked
The fridge contains 5 plastic 'packets', full of blood, probably taken from the local hospital. And a carton of orange juice.
God knows why orange juice.

Wierd. I wonder if he has a ghoul. After closing and locking the fridge I leave the kitchen area and head for the next door.

This area is a library of some kind, with all the windows either taken out, or covered by bookshelves, you can't tell. A wooden, spaced-out staircase goes up to another level, with a door going off it, though their is some floorspace, with a few more shelves, up there.
A table is in the middle of the room on the ground floor, and you can see a writing tableau on the upper one.

"This is hot."
After checking to see if anyone was entering the house, I look through the bookshelves to see if Michael's reading list is anything interesting.

You do a circuit of the ground floor, checking some of the titles. It all seems pretty standard stuff, arranged by genre and author, history, science, refence, and a copious (and seemingly untouched) fiction section.
The upper level, however, is a bit different. There's basic mythology and classical history, religion, both 'conventional' and kindred-specific and then more occultish works, ranging from mortal authors, some names you recognise, and then some older looking books, which you don't.
Titles on this level range from "Greek Fire" to "Thaumaturgical Creatures" and "Theban Rites", but an awful lot of the more 'interesting' looking ones don't have titles on them at all.

Definately interesting. I thumb through his book on Theban Rites for a moment. I wonder if he's a sorcerer.

There's a collection of various rites, most of which seem pretty standard, but there are a couple that you haven't heard of. They're all laid out in nice detail.
As you're flicking through, a torn piece of paper, about half the size of a piece of a4 in all (hmm, a5?), falls out, and flits to the floor.

I reach down to pick up the paper looking at it intently. Why was it torn out and how am I gonna put it back so that he doesn't realize I've been prying?

Looking at it, you're pretty sure that this isn't torn from the book, rather, it's been placed in the book.
There are a few words written on it.
"If we shadows have offended/think but this, and all is mended."

Shakespear, eh? I study the information on the card and commit it to memory. Then I return back to the Rites and look at some of the rights I haven't heard of. I'm not really sure what I'm looking for, but I'm sure something'll catch my eye.
OOC: What time is it? I'm assuming it's past 1 already.

It's about 1:30
You memorize the paper, and then flip through the book.
You're going to have to help me out here, as you're the one with the book with some extra rites in. Assume the book covers 3 rites that you don't already know, 1 of them less common (? if this is a factor in the LS book). Just post the names on here, if they should become important.

Hmmm...Vitae Reliquary. I continue searching and come across the Liar's Plague. Always a classic. I'm about to close the book when I notice one I haven't heard about at all in my studies.
"Bird of Sin?"
According to the book, this is one of the original rites discovered by the Monachus in the vault in Thebes. I can't recall anyone practicing this one. It's a bit above my experience level, but I still take in as much as I can. With that out of the way, I put the book back the way I found it. It's a little past 1:30 and I'm wondering if I can make it to his meeting place in time.
