Casavantes promises major crackdown on crime
"In the latest stage of the political campaigning for the upcoming election for the mayor of New Orleans, Gianni Casavantes, who announced that he would be running for mayor earlier this week, promised to reduce crime and violence in the city, by increasing police budgets, and expanding the force. This pledge comes at an opportune time, as, the same day he announced his bid for mayor, there was a protest at city hall, calling for the police to be doing more to stop this street violence. A spokesman for the organisation who organised the protest said that they wanted action from the 'corrupt, doughnut munching slobs' that run the force."

Man murdered in Audubon park - The Big Easy's own Wolf Man?
"The body of a young man was found yesterday evening in Audubon park by a passer by, who reported it to the police. The man, who the police are yet to identify, was found with several major lascerations on his chest, and more on his legs. The police on the scene said they looked like "the kind of thing a wild animal could do", but they have found no further evidence that the man was killed by an animal. It has been indicated that the marks are like no known animal, which has led many to the conclusion that the man was attacked by the "New Orleans Wolfman". This paper, for one, wants to warn people about the danger of this creature, and are offering a reward for photographic evidence of it."
